I would Go with the Toshiba. But it really depends on what you are using it for.
500? keep saving your money. try not to get anything refurbished. don’t want anyone elses problems that come with your used pc. if it is refurbished make sure it’s certified by the company that produced it.
if you must insist the hp or the acer because of the GHz
as an it guy that works on these things every day, all else being the same such as memory/hd, etc, I would buy them in this order:
Acer (because it’s a new dual core), Toshiba, hp then compaq (because they’re crap). I usually would have said the hp dual core before the toshiba AMD, but this one is refurbished.
I would go to consumerreports.org and see what they recommend, then onto pcmag.com and see what they like the best. After you’ve chosen your favorite model, go to epinions.com and see what users are saying about your choice and then go to froogle.com for the best pricing. I found some interesting stuff at my source as well.
