Is This A Good Priced Laptop?

I am considering a HP Pavilion dv6000t. (If you know of a better one please help me out.)
I have it configured like this:
–Operating System: Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium(32-bit)
–Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache)
–Display: 15.4″ WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280×800)
–Graphics Card: 256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7400
–Personalization: HP Imprint Finish + Microphone + Webcam
–Memory: 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
–Hard Drive: 200GB 4200RPM SATA Hard Drive
–Primary CD/DVD Drive: LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD+/-RW w/Double Layer
–Networking: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/Bluetooth
–Primary Battery: 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
–Productivity Software: Microsoft(R) Works 8.0
–HP extended service plans: 1-year HP Accidental Damage Protection with Express Repair extended service plan
It costs $1,570. Am I getting my moneys worth?

Good for the most part, but you don’t want a 4200RPM hard drive. Get a 5400RPM (or better, a 7200RPM) even if it means cutting back on the hard drive capacity. Also, I personally believe it is a shame to waste 15.4″ of LCD with a 1280×800 display. See if they have SXGA+ (1680×1050) – you’ll be happy you did. Finally, you may want to step up the warranty to 3 years. Laptops break and they’re not cheap to fix. If you’re going to be spending a lot of $$$ on a nice laptop you should protect your investment.
Other than those minor things that is one powerful machine.

  2. Ok this is a amazing computer but what are u using it for? school? bussness? because the 2gb ddr2 is amazing but do u really need 200 gb hard drive? and if u do it good price its just in my opinon i dont like the 15.4″ screen i like 14″ better but thats me.
