My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv2415nr. When I hover over the battery icon in the task bar it says that the battery is charging, but has been at 3% for quite a while. I’ve even done an HP battery check – it says that the battery is in good condition. Can someone help me out?
The only way to test this out is to take our your multimeter and see what’s happening. Otherwise, just try out using another battery and or charger and see how they compare.
HP is just plain junk nowadays. My girlfriend has a laptop that we had to service for 4 years. The engineering gone into the hardware of their products is appalling. The hinges for the screen on her laptop were held to the frame using tiny screws….insanely tiny screws. Screws that were not meant to carry shear forces as large as what is applied to them on a daily basis. The heads shear off every 4 months or so.
I’ve made a promise to myself not to buy HP computers anymore for this very reason. Nothing is built to withstand use past the warranty expiration anymore. I have a ten year old HP DeskJet printer and it’s still goin’. They must’ve just figured out that warranty sales give great revenue.
How old is your computer? If it’s more than three or four years old, you might want to consider a new battery. Even if it says the battery is good.
your batter is probably fried.. eventually after so many charging cycles they just die..
hopefully you have HP care or something lol.
you will need to calibrate the battery.
Could be your adapter is not proving enough power to charge the battery. Try another adapter.
Either replace the battery or buy a universal charger.
If this is an older computer, you might just need to buy a new battery.
