Okay so I have this two month old HP Pavilion dv 7 17″ entertainment AMD Turion X2 ATI graphics current vista OS…
Now not all the time but every once an a while it just winks out/ crashes. the Battery is good and fully charged it’s plugged into the AC the fan is going everything seems to be working just fine and poof it shuts off and I have to restart, I get the warning “Windows stopped unexpectedly” I restarted in normal…
I’m not running any big programs like Photoshop and I wasn’t watching a movie. My AV was scanning… nothing found… I don’t get it… do the dv7 laptops have an overheating problem? is this a Vista bug? should I keep it or send it in to be serviced? this doesn’t happen often but because this is a new puter I wonder if this will only get worse with time?
Any advice?

The error message indicates that your Operating System needs a fix. Good news is that you are on Windows Vista and you have a great computer.
If you feel that you have too many files to lose, take the help of customer care to get the OS fixed without a reinstall. In case you feel that you can let the files go, simply reinstall it.
I suggest that you take the help of the HP customer care for these. Specifically mention that if the problem persists after OS reinstall, they have to replace the computer. That way, you will get the best service out of them.
well first i would try reinstall the OS and if that doesn’t work and its still under warranty i wouldn’t mess around with it but just send it back since you paid for the warranty.
it is your CPU getting to hot or you need a mother board battery replacement
I have same question to you.
My computer kept crashing with illegal operation errors.
At first I thought it was a virus, but my antivirus wasn’t able to find anything wrong.
I ran your software and found over 300 errors!!!
After it corrected them, my computer was no longer crashing!
Thank http://toptenantispyware.com/Clean_Up_Ce… for saving me a lot of time and headache! You fixed my PC when nothing else did!
fails it is time to reformat your hard drive and wipe your pc clean, this can take hours and you will probably need the data recovery disc that you should have got when you bought the pc.
