Computer Ram Problems?
November 11th, 2009Ok so i have an HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop with windows vista. It is about 1 year old. I started having problems with it about a month and a half ago. The screen would just go black or a strange colorfull pattern. I noticed the hard drive light stopped blinking when this happened. Usually I could fix it by just taking the battery out and restarting it. But then It wouldn’t even turn on all the way, so my dad found out it was a RAM problem, he removed the 2 gigs of RAM then reinstalled them and it worked fine. We figured they were loose or something. It kept happening again and now i tried the removing the RAM and its not working. When I turn it on i just get a black screen and the hard drive light does not blink. Im pretty sure it is the RAM because it was that problem before. I have about 48% left on my C drive.

Worth Having My Computer Fixed?
November 9th, 2009Hey- First let me say thanks for taking the time to open this question.
I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC laptop- I’m not sure exactly what happened to it, but when i turn it on nothing happens to the screen? The lights on the keyboard turn on and i can kind of hear the “system” start up, but nothing on the screen…Not even a color change or lighting up, nothing. I’m not sure what could be causing this…I’ve tried taking the battery out, putting it back in, plugging it in without the battery etc…It didn’t have any contact with water or anything else- Anyone know what could be causing this? And is it worth getting fixed?

External Hard Drives. Do I Need One?
November 9th, 2009Hey heres my problem. My laptop keeps freezing. I have an Hp Pavilion with Vista on it. I cant even get past the start up. I cant even get into safe mode before it freezes. I had it look at and they said I need a new hard drive because of the battery. The battery aint worth ****. It dies in 40s. But I always keep it plugged in. So I would like to know if I could use an external hard drive until I can get another one or new computer all together? I guess Im trying to find out it is…is the external hard drive going to let me use my computer without any problems for a while?
If you’re wondering how Im using my computer now, its because I pull up some screen by hitting F11 and running disk check, which said pass and now Im defragmenting. Which for some reason allows me to use my computer for a few hours before it start freezing again.

Do I Need A Good Graphics Card If I Play Only A Few Games?
November 8th, 2009Do I need a good graphics card for my laptop if I only play games like rollercoaster tycoon and sim city 4? I purchased a hp pavilion dv5-1235dx from Best Buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=K4IZGOWHMFWGNKC4D3FVAHQ?skuId=9167652&type=product&id=1218041150023 or I can get a laptop with the same specs but it has a NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT. The other difference is the battery life on the one from best buy is great because its a 12 cell.
