My Cmos Battery Failed, I Replaced It But Now My Computer Won’t Power On. What Could It Be?

I have a 2 year old HP pavilion laptop. I had to replace the hard drive within a month of owning it and then my CMOS battery died about 6 months ago. I replaced it with a new battery and it started working fine. Then last week it started showing signs of a failed CMOS again (computer crashes, error message on boot-up, incorrect time and date, etc.). Within a few days I had to remove and replace the bad CMOS battery whenever I wanted to turn it on. I ordered a replacement part and before it could arrive my computer crashed for the last time and won’t power up no matter what I did. When I got the new part, I installed it just like I had done tons of times before but, my computer still won’t power up.
I talked to an computer guru when my CMOS battery died the first time, and he thought that I might have a different hardware problem that was causing the CMOS to wear out really fast.
What do you think is causing this?

I have a battery question/problem. Ii just got a brand new laptop and now the battery is not recharging. I put it on Power Plan and it says that it is not recharging. How do I make it recharge.

How To Maximise Battery Life?????

well i have got this mobile pc-hp pavilion dv6516tx and i have so many problems regarding the battery i mean the battery backup for this laptop is just one to one and half hours.
i have been given contradictory advices by ppl as to how to maximize the battery backup.
i wanted to know that should i be using ac power when i’m not mobile and my battery is charged upto some level say 70% or should i exhaust my battery meaning discharge it completely and then put it on ac?
please help me out!!!!

Charger, Battery And Fan .. Not Working!?

So, I have a HP Pavilion dv1000 and let’s just say that it is in a terrible state. My first(and original) charger got burnt badly to the point where the weird metal thing that goes into the laptop … melted! So I purchased another charger, and the same thing happened in a matter of days. Got the 2nd charger replaced with a 3rd …. but it still got burnt.
Obviously, by now, I am thinking that the laptop is the problem and not the charger. I searched a couple of similar questions on this site about chargers burning and laptops overheating…so it seems there may be something wrong with the fan. And my aunt thinks it’s the battery that’s the problem.
So, basically my question is, … would it be worth trying to get the fan fixed and to buy a new battery and also get a new charger or just simply purchase a new laptop? I’m thinking a new laptop would be better….but I’d like to see other people’s opinions!
