I’ve got an HP Pavilion zv6000, it’s a laptop, about 5 years old. The USB ports don’t work, when a mouse or similar device is plugged in a message pops up saying that the devices are not being recognized, when a USB storage device is plugged in the computer freezes and has to be shut off manually. Needless to say, no USB devices are working. I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows and Service Pack 3 and the problem still exists. I’ve also tried unplugging it, popping the battery out and letting it sit for about a half hour. I’ve installed the drivers HP lists under the computer on their website but none of them were for motherboards or USB drivers.
