What Is Better? Amd Turion Or Intel Corel 2 Duo?
September 2nd, 2009Hi- Anyone know which processor is better? Faster? Lasts longer? If more reliable?
I am looking at purchasing the following laptop, but I am not sure because I hear the AMD processor eats up batteries.

Do I Have Only 32bit On Intel Core 2 Duo Hp Laptop?
June 12th, 2009Ok…sorry my question is confusing, i wasnt sure how to word it. But i have a HP Pavilion dv2910us that has a Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. I read that it also has Windows Vista Premium(32 bit)…
But when I read the description on Ciruit City for the Laptop itself it read..”Dual core/64-bit processing: This laptop features the dual-core 1.83GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor. The Core 2 Duo has two processing engines that work together, giving this processor much more power than standard 1.83GHz processors. This processor built on 64 bits architecture, enabling it to handle twice as much information as older 32-bit processors. Intel Centrino technology enhances mobile performance and extends battery life.”
but on the box it read: This system requires a separately purchased 64-bit operating system…”
But its a “core 2 duo” so, shouldn’t that be unnecessary….isn’t it ALREADY a 64 bit because its “duo”???? help me please…

Helping a relative buy a laptop for a middle-aged cousin. He’s not too experienced with computers, so I want to get him a future-proof and somewhat newbie-proof processor.
I’m pretty settled on the HP Pavilion dv6000 series, but I’m torn between getting a Turion 64 x2 or an Intel core 2 duo.
For about the same price, I can get an AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-56(1.8GHz/1MB) plus a bigger battery and a remote control, or for the same price I can get just an Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5200 (1.60 GHz) minus those two extras.
Are there any significant benefits for going with the Intel over the Turion? Is 1.6 GHz on a Turion dual the equivalent of 1.6 GHz on an Intel dual? Is a Turion preferable to an older, $50 cheaper Intel Core Duo 1.60 GHz chip?
Please let me know your own experience with computer tech in your answer. Thank you!
