Recharging Notebook Causes Damage?

November 8th, 2009

One of my friends recently purchased an HP Pavilion DV2000 notebook pc. He wanted to know that if you charged your notebook for a long period of time, will this damage the notebook? He said that one of his other friends told him that if you left your laptop on charge for days and days, it can melt the charger’s wires and cause internal damages to the laptop. Is this true? Because my friend leaves his notebook charged almost 24/7, just so that anytime he wants to take it somewhere else, he can rely on a fully charged battery. Does extensive charging cause damages like this? Thanks!

Hp Notebook Pc, Is It Worth The Money?

October 17th, 2009

HP 14.1″ Pavilion dv4-1140go Laptop PC w/ Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 Processor
* 14.1″ LCD screen
* 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
* 4 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive
* DVD burner, Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Seems great to me. It has a 6-Cell battery which is like, 4 hours?
It costs around $950 but I found a sale where it goes fro $599.
Is it worth the money? I need something cheap but fast mostly from browsing and storing music/photos.
Opinions and suggestions will be appreciated!!

Can I Return My Hp Notebook After 6 Months?

September 25th, 2009

I bought my HP Pavilion dv6500t customizable notebook in December of 2007. Since then, 2 of the rubber knubs on my notebook have fallen off, I have been BSODed AT LEAST 3 times, with NO actual help from HP support (they wanted me to reformat my hard drive, every time). Many times the laptop will just not start, it will just sit there with a blank, lit screen, and the power light is lit up. The 6 cell battery won’t hold charge for very long, and it wont even tell me how much time I have left to use it. And I actually paid more than if I went Mac, and I could’ve gotten better. I mean, I’m 14 (13 when I bought it), I saved for years to get this thing. I paid them $1,541.99+shipping+tax for a laptop, money that should’ve gone in the bank. What did I get? A piece of garbage computer backed by crappy support. I’d like to return it. I’m fed up. But HP’s return policy is 21 days. It’s been 6 months. Do you think if I contact customer service I could return it, somehow?
