I just bought a new HP Pavilion DV6601AX with Windows Vista, but did not get a standard antivirus with it. A few days ago my friend installed an antivirus program on it for me, and it worked fine. However, yesterday, I tried to boot it, and the window screen did show up (as completely BLACK for a while) and then the taskbar came up, but the cursor never stopped being busy. It just showed up as a ‘busy circle’. I gave it some time, but it kept going for half an hour! I really need to work on a word document, but I can’t even click on anything. I restarted it, and the same thing kept happening. I even tried putting the battery in again in case it wasn’t installed right, but nothing changed. What am I supposed to do?
I am also more comfortable with Windows XP and I was planning to get that installed… but I am really scared because I just got a new laptop. HELP ME PLEASE!!! I live all alone in an apartment and I’m not that great with computers.

Can Someone Please Answer This??????
November 6th, 2009i have the hp pavilion laptop and im going on a road trip and im taking it with me well be 2 hours in the car and its not ganna be charging for 2 hours so i was wondering if the charging % gets to1 then i shoud turn it off and then go home and charge it AND after those 2 hours i should never use my battery without charge? and if my comps battery life is 2 hours then is it safe if i keep chargin it over night then using it for 2 hours then the same thing?

Please Answer!!!!!i Need To Know Before My Mom Gets Mad At Me!!?
November 3rd, 2009ok i have a HP Pavilion Laptop. A few days ago, it was working just fine. Now the battery is dead, the only way i can use it is if i keep it plugged in. Every time i plug it in to charge it, It doesnt charge. At the bottom of the screen, i clicked on the little battery thing at it says, Plugged in, not charging. What is wrong? How do i get it to charge. Thanks.

Please Help – Computer Spill Question?
October 31st, 2009I spilled cranberry juice on my new laptop, an HP Pavilion DV6449us.
I wiped it off all the surfaces and tilted the laptop to one side to drain it. And I removed the battery, which was dry.
My question is – should I unscrew the compartments on the underside of the laptop? I’m not sure what these are and whether it makes sense to remove them to help with the drying process.
