I have an HP Pavilion dv6647cl Entertainment Notebook PC and I’ve only had it for 2 months now. When I went to use it last week, the battery meter, it says 1% available (plugged in, not charging). I have tried shutting the computer down, unplugging the AC adapter, removing the battery and plugging everything back in and then turning the computer back on, and it still hasnt worked. I also read a lot of the answers to similar questions, and tried what they said, and it hasnt worked. Do I need to get a new battery? I have Windows Vista (came with the computer already installed).. Does that have anything to do with it? Has any one else had this problem? Please help.. Thank you.

Is It Okay To Leave A Laptop Plugged In And On All The Time?
September 14th, 2009I have an HP Pavilion Laptop, and usually turn it completely off at night. But for the past week or so, I have resorted to leaving it plugged in and completely on all the time (all night, all day). I changed the settings so the laptop doesn’t go to sleep/hibernate, but the screen does go black after 5 minutes. The reason I did this was because I wanted my AIM to stay on all night, so in the morning I could quickly check it/change my away message.
Is this okay for my laptop? The ventilation is not a problem, because it is sitting on my wooden desk. But will the battery life be affected? Am I better off just turning it off? My laptop is almost a year old, and I don’t want to kill it.

Why Does My Laptop Say ‘plugged In, Not Charging’?
September 13th, 2009Ok I have a HP Pavilion Laptop and I am wondering why it will get stuck on a certain percentage of battery life (always a random %) and I get the msg wen I hover over the lil battery picture saying “plugged in, not charging” Its really annoying, I have tried taking the battery out to let it cool down and stuff, it doesnt seem to make a difference. It says it isnt charging, but it never seems to lose any life when it is plugged in, it just always stays at the same percentage. Thankyou to all who answer!

Laptop Not Charging Even When Plugged In?
August 12th, 2009So I have an HP Pavilion dv5 that won’t charge at all even when I plug the cord in. I don’t know if it’s the battery or not because my computer completely turned off and now it won’t turn back on. How can you tell if it’s the battery or not? I don’t plan on spending $100 for nothing. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Laptop Shuts Down When Charger Is Plugged In.?
July 29th, 2009I was using my laptop as normal yesterday to write a paper for a class. I leave to go work and I shut down the computer and unplug it from the charger. I come back, boot my laptop up as normal and browse the internet for a while. Seeing that the battery was getting low, I plug the charger in and after a few seconds, poof it just shuts down with no warning. I tried restarting it but the same thing happens. When the computer shuts off, the battery is still getting charged though. Is it a bad battery or what? (I have an HP pavilion zv6000 btw)
