I’ve had my computer(Hp Pavilion dv6000 laptop) for about fourteen months now, and the warranty went up two months ago.
Before now, I’ve only had minor problems with it(keeps booting up itself and draining the battery during the night).
The last two days, my E:\ drive has been messing up. It loads CDs just fine, and it reads them and all, but it doesn’t register through the computer itself.
It’s like the CD drive is acting independently of the computer.
When I go to “My Computer”, I have the typical C:\ drive, the D:\ recovery drive, and then F:\, which is my ProDuo memory stick.
The CD drive doesn’t show up, no autoplay comes up, it doesn’t think when I put a cd in, but the drive lights up like it’s supposed to.
I’ve tried explaining this as best I can, so I apologize if it’s confusing.

Computer Ram Problems?
November 11th, 2009Ok so i have an HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop with windows vista. It is about 1 year old. I started having problems with it about a month and a half ago. The screen would just go black or a strange colorfull pattern. I noticed the hard drive light stopped blinking when this happened. Usually I could fix it by just taking the battery out and restarting it. But then It wouldn’t even turn on all the way, so my dad found out it was a RAM problem, he removed the 2 gigs of RAM then reinstalled them and it worked fine. We figured they were loose or something. It kept happening again and now i tried the removing the RAM and its not working. When I turn it on i just get a black screen and the hard drive light does not blink. Im pretty sure it is the RAM because it was that problem before. I have about 48% left on my C drive.

What’s Wrong With My Laptop? (charger Problems)?
October 9th, 2009It will only charge and stay charged when it’s off or on standby. Once I turn it bac on it switches to the battery, and the battery has had problems since purchasing this back in 2004 – it dies in about 40 minutes with minimal programs running and the lights dimmed all the way down. Replacement batteries never work, it causes a system error. I’m not too worried about the battery, the problem is more with just it’s charging. Does a new charger need to be purchased or is this something internally? It’s an HP Pavilion zv5000. The warranty is past so I am not bringing it in anywhere.

Problems With Laptop?
September 14th, 2009hey all,
my laptop has some major problems….(i have a hp pavilion dv6000)
1. it takes FOREVER to shut down. and not even once. it’s happened a lot of times. sometimes i’ll press shut down, turn off the power bar, and then go to sleep. in the morning, i’ll turn it on and it tells me that it’s low on battery (aka it took all night to shut down…?!)
2. it also takes FOREVER to go to “sleep.” i am a college student, and i take my laptop to class. before i leave, i put it to sleep. however, it takes REALLY long. sometimes when i just close the top and don’t put it to sleep, when i open it again, the screen looks weeeeird. it’s definitely not normal. at that time i just have to restart it by holding the power button, but i really don’t want to do that anymore.
help?!

Laptop Problems? Pleasee Help?
September 13th, 2009I have a HP Pavilion dv6000, with Vista.
I have had it for about 5 months now..
and i already have 3 problems with it..
1. Sometimes it will turn of on it’s own, (nothing to do with the battery), iv’e been told this happens because it over heats, and i sometimes block the fan with a pillow if im resting the laptop on it.
2. Recently the ‘Add’ ‘Uninstall’ & ‘Change’ buttons on the remove hardware page have dissapeared, and restarting doesn’t fix it.
3. For the past 2 days, after a while the right-click button will stop working, and will only start working once i restart it, but then after a while it happens again.
I have virus scanned by laptop many times, cleaned it internally and externaly, and now all im thinking about doing is taking it back, as i have a 1 year warranty..
if anyone can please help i would appreciate it heaps, i really don’t want to take it back if these problems are fixable..
