I have seen forums that discuss battery problems, backlights and backlight inverters. What has been your experience with this problem and how did you fix it? I removed my battery and the problem seems to have disappated. Should I get a new battery? Where are the test points to check battery fully charged voltage? Do the battery contacts ever get corroded. I have an HP Pavilion N5445 laptop. Like I said, the screen is not flickering right now or at least not as noticeably as when I have the battery in. I thought I had a virus or spyware. Not so sure now, maybe a combo though?

My Laptop Screen Gets Darker When I Plug The Ac Cable Out?
July 9th, 2009There’s nothing in the Preferences>> Power Options like Brightness Adgustments or whatsoever – it’s never been.
It started happening about 6 months ago, and before then it never mattered whether my laptop was connected to power or not – the screen was always same bright. Is there any possible battery problem? The laptop is only 3 and a half years old and it’s HP Pavilion zt3000 model.

Hp Pavilion Dv9000 Laptop Won’t Turn Screen On. :(?
June 7th, 2009So I’ve had this laptop for like 2 years and its a little soon for it to be having problems. :/ anyway, I was playing this game online when suddenly my keyboard stopped functioning. The screen was working fine; I saw my character get eaten by zombies and I was helpless. 
lol.
Anyway, not a single key was working on my laptop, neither was the touch pad. So I reset my laptop and turned it back on. But now my screen won’t come on. it makes all the noises it normally does when you turn on the laptop. The fan goes on, the disc drive spins the cd, and everything, the screen doesn’t show signs of life though. what’s going on? How do you think I can fix this?
Right now I’m trying this thing that used to work on my old laptop where you would take the battery out and press the on button for 45 seconds. I hope that will work for this too. :/
