What Warranty Should I Get? How Are My Specs?

November 2nd, 2009

This laptop comes with a one year warranty already but I’d like to extend it. Which should I get? Would I be okay to just add the 1yr accidental? I think the 2yr is over priced. Is it worth getting a 2yr?
1-year HP Accidental Damage Protection with Pick Up and Return
Up to one year coverage from damage caused by spills, drops, or electrical surges. $109.99
2-year HP Accidental Damage Protection with Pick Up and Return
Up to two years coverage from damage caused by spills, drops, or electrical surges. $249.99
How are my specs for gaming (sims3), internet and itunes?
Would you change anything?

Should I Get A Macbook?

October 31st, 2009

Currently I have an HP Pavilion laptop.. but it’s starting to get really slow. and the battery is broken..but im too lazy to buy a new one.. im also broke. i had my laptop for almost 3 years now.
i started getting interested in the macbooks, because some of my friends got them, and love them.
are they good laptops? are they better than pcs? i know this is always a big argument between people, but really which one is better?
i usually use my laptop for Photos/editing, videos/editing, webcam chats with friends, school work, internet, AIM, that kind of stuff.
Do you think a macbook is better for me?

Which Of The Following Laptops Should I Purchase?

October 25th, 2009

I’m starting college in a few weeks and have only recently begun looking into buying a new laptop. I currently own a Dell Inspiron E1505 and have decided against taking it with me due to its a) weight and b) short battery life. After doing some research I’ve narrowed my selections down to the following:
1. HP Pavilion dv5000z Turion 64
2. HPdv6700 or dv2700
3. IBM ThinkPad
4. MacBook
5. ASUS M505v-AI
6. Toshiba Satellite A305D
7. Sony VAIO NR
Could anyone who has either owned or had experience working with any of these laptops offer me some advice on which would be best for me? I’m trying to keep the price below $1000 but I wouldn’t mind exceeding this amount if the laptop’s performance is exceptional.
Additional Information:
-I’m not looking to download music or game on this computer. I only ask that it perform basic functions (i.e. wireless internet, compatible with Microsoft Office).
-Portability and reliability are my main criteria.
Thank you so much in advance!

What Laptops Should I Put Into Consideration, And Pros And Con?

October 23rd, 2009

I want a laptop with a built in webcam, long battery life (~/=/<4 hrs), WiFi, high Ram (2.0 RAM+), very good graphic cards, lots of ports (at least 2 USB, and other crap xD), 14” screen or more, lots of space, can handle being dropped, i want it to be Windows Vista, i want it to be portable(so i dont want a 10lbs laptop…), budget is about $1,600, has to be good with gaming.
Some that i picked out are:
Alienware M17
Dell – Inspiron Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6400
Gateway – Laptop with Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology
Toshiba – Satellite Laptop with Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology
