My Computer Keeps Crashing Using Ie Or Firefox!?

November 17th, 2009

I purchased a brand new relatively well quipped laptop 3 days ago. From day one, right out of the box (with no downloads or tweaks) I experienced IE 7.0 crashing every 5-10 minutes; sometimes where it would recover from and sometimes where it would completely shut down. After I lost my patience I posted a question on answers and people seemed to agree I should try Firefox, so I downloaded and began using 3.0.5 only to experience crashing in Firefox as well that was equally as disruptive as IE. I am really at my wits end because I mostly use the computer for internet browsing. I am also very unhappy with the restart time which is two minutes and sixteen seconds (I actually timed it) which seems crazy for a Core 2 Duo processor with 4 gig of ram. Is this a vista thing? I believe I have ruled out IE 7.0 by replicating the same problem with Firefox. In case it matters I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with Service Pack 1

Create An Ap Using Laptop With Linux.?

June 17th, 2009

Hello,
I have an Asus EeePc it comes with Xandros,
I heard its possible with windows and macs to create a wireless connection with a laptop (while its connected with an ethernet cable to the internet).
Since I don’t have Windows installed here, I was wondering if there was a way to do this with Linux.
Thanks in advance

Hp Laptop!! Is It A Good Build For What I Will Be Using It For?

June 16th, 2009

I will be using this laptop for internet, college work, itunes and Sims 3 when it comes out. Maybe a couple of other games. I built it at hp.com and I was wondering if it is a good build for the things I need it for. I was considering adding more hard drive but if that is enough I’d like to stay with that since it is less evpensive.
QUESTIONS:
1. Is it a good build for what I will be using it for?
2.Should I raise the hard drive to 320GB?
3. Is 5400rpm good enough or should I get a 7200rpm drive?
4. What would you change, if anything?
5. How many years warranty should I get? Is one okay or should I go for two?
Remember I want what is good enough for what I’m using it for and I’d like to keep it low priced!
