Which Laptop Should I Buy?

June 1st, 2009

Buying a cheap laptop for uni and these are some I’m looking at. Which one do you reckon would be the best for just internet/ word doc use – I just want something fast and reliable. I think the first one (Toshiba) is the best. Any other recommendations?http://www.johnlewis.com/230547197/Produ…http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/produc…http://www.amazon.co.uk/Compaq-Presario-…

get a macbook… its the best laptop and its not that expensive…worse laptops cost the same (like dell)
trust me get anmacbookand you’ll never regret it…it will last for a while

Since you’re in school, you probably have to get a laptop.
Since your projected use is very conservative, I’d get the cheapest laptop, and that appears to be the entry level Dell. It’s slightly heavier than the Toshiba but has a more powerful main chip as the starting option.
A lot of people hate Dell, but I never suffered a horror story with my entry-level Dimension (that I wouldn’t have faced on any computer).
Toshiba should also be reliable – I have a laptop from about 2003 or so that still works well.

    Dont get a macbook.
even though they are more reliable and often look better than laptops they are so much more expensive for the hardware you actually get.
    Look on http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk
They have a wider range and at cheaper prices. also a trusted site.

15.4″ http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152652 – or something a little smaller 10.2″ with XP instead of Vista (I prefer XP): http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150184 these will do internet/word & most applications you need.

i have a toshiba i would recommend it
its best to make a list of requirements you need your laptop to do,then check if the model you are looking at can do the tasks you want for the price you want to pay.
